How Our Bed Bug Control Works

We use the Aprehend® bed bug treatment to eliminate infestations. Aprehend® is a biopesticide made of Beauveria bassiana fungal spores. It is non-toxic and can significantly reduce bed bug populations in as little as four days. 

Here is how it works:

1. We spray Aprehend® to surfaces where we know bed bugs are or where they will pass over.
2. The spray’s fungal spores stick to the bed bugs.
3. The bed bugs carry these spores back to their hiding places and spread them to others.
4. Over time, the entire bed bug population dies.

Signs of a Bed Bug Infestation

Recognizing the signs of a bed bug infestation is crucial for prompt intervention. But what are these signs?

You should take note of:

• Unexpected bloodstains on sheets, pillowcases, upholstery, and other surfaces; this is often an indication that bed bugs have been feeding. 
• Bed bug fecal matter, which looks like small black or brown spots on bedding and furniture.
• Bed bug skins. These will appear like transparent versions of the bugs themselves. 
• Musty and semi-sweet odors. Bed bug pheromones have this odd smell. 
• Bed bug bite marks, which are generally red with a dark center. They also often appear in lines or groups.

Where Do Bed Bugs Hide?

They tend to seek refuge in seams, folds, and crevices of mattresses and box springs, as well as behind wallpaper, picture frames, and electrical outlets. 

In addition to living in homes, bed bugs establish hideouts in public spaces with high human activity. Bed bugs can live in buses and subways, theaters, and hotels. They hide in these space’s wall voids, around window and door moldings, and even in clothing and linens.
